About Us
Fiction & Friction is a Romance Bookstore that specialises in Independently Published Romance Books, with both an online presence and in store location. It was the first bookstore of its kind, to specialise in Independently Published Romance books. While we do stock a small range of children's books and some traditionally published books by hybrid or small press authors our stores priority will always be Indie Books.
Fiction & Friction's Founder and CEO, Britt is a South Australian woman who is dedicated to getting your paperbacks into the hands of eager Australian readers and has been doing so for five years now.

Unfortunately, we can't stock every book by every author who contacts us. We need to be sure that books will sell to our community. We have a very niche target market and customer base, any books purchased need to appeal to them.
Please understand that our Expression of Interest is very high with over 250 Authors at any given time filling out our forms, this doesn't include the email contact we also receive. We have limited space and limited hours in the day to do all the things.
We have no time frame for contact with any person will fills out this form, it will depend on the responses, and we want to be very up front about that. Please also understand that if we are interested in your books, we might not have the capacity to order any at the time we contact you.

Wholesale Pricing: Wholesale pricing refers to the discounted price at which books are sold to retailers. It's important to note that wholesale pricing is not your retail price (the price customers pay directly) or your production cost. It’s a reduced price specifically for bookstores that will resell your book. You should be covering all your costs and making some profit with your wholesale pricing.

Conversion: Are you an author outside of Australia? If so, we highly recommend doing some research on the price when you convert to AUD. We also recommend you check your cost price of printing your books in Australia so that your wholesale pricing is based on Australian prices or it will start getting messy to figure out pricing.

Book Details: Do you have lists of genres and tropes included in your book/s? This helps us figure out if your book is something people are requesting and helps us sell the book.

Shipping / Ordering Options: We are heavily prioritising ordering directly from authors this is the best way to support you, but it does mean there is a little more work involved. Options for this include Ingram and Amazon for printing, both can be shipping directly to us if you're an International Author. If you're an Australian Author open to providing signed copies, we would love to do this. There will be an option below for this.
