You might be asking what our Book Exchange Program is?
The simple anwser is that you can bring in your NEW or LIGHTLY USED books and exchange them for a $5.00 Fiction & Friction Gift Card. The perfect way to get rid of those books you've had laying around that you meant to sell but didn't, tried to sell but couldn't or just haven't had time to donate yet. We've all got a stack like that right. Well here is a way you can get some instant credits to grab yourself some new books!
How does it work?
- Simply bring your new or lightly used romance books into Fiction & Friction during our business hours to be inspected. If they pass the inspection you will recieve a $5.00 F&F Credit or Gift Card per eligible book.
- If you bring in 10 eligiable books you get an extra $10 Credit or Gift Card.
What classes as new?
- Anything that looks like it hasn't been read. If you've read it but it's still in perfect condition this counts.
What is lightly used?
- Minor imperfections including minor marks on the edges, minor scuffs or blemishes.
What won't you accept?
- Nothing outisde of the Romance Genre as a whole—romance includes fantasy romance, paranormal romance. As long it’s romance we will accept. Don’t forget that Romance = a Happily Ever After.
- Book 2 and onwards of a series if book one isn't included. Unless it can be fully read as a standalone.
- Damaged books—including but not limited to bent covers, heavy marks, deep scratches, books with names or library stamps and embellishments added, rips or tears.
- Books published before 2011.
- Personalised books—signed books are accepted but they must not be personalised.
What will these books be used for?
- Blind Dates! We can't keep up with the demand for blind dates. So we'd love to take some of your books off your hands and use them to keep up with demand.
What do we do if we have books to bring down?
- Simple! Just come in during our opening hours and let us know you want to exchange some books.
- Books will be inspect and we'll let you know if they're all good or not. If they aren't acceptable you're welcome to take them home and try to sell them or you can pop them in our Free Library. It's completely up to you.

If you want to spend your credits that day we will take that amount off your total. If you want to spend them another day we will allocate them to you on a Gift Card.
